Electric Bikes : How You Can Keep Fit and Save Money
Not getting enough exercise? It’s a normal feeling - we realize this, and still many things get in our way of doing exercise. You witness people packed into gyms doing exercise, and consider : well, I have to go to the gymnasium, pay for my gym member’s costs, then lift some weights. It seems like loads of trouble, can’t I do something that’s not going to blow a lot of my precious time - even something practical?
You may then consider bicycling, as biking around is a very effective means to improve your health. You can ride to the local shops or to work, so it’s very practical. It’s also cost-effective - there’s no gasoline called for and the running costs are almost nothing. It’s also eco-friendly. Oh, and it improves your health too!
Yet many individuals are reluctant to get a bike since it’s TOO much effort. As crazy as that sounds, consider that they might live in a very hilly location, be elderly or have a particular ailment that make cycling too “hardcore” for their capabilities. Also for a few individuals, it’s not practical cycling to their work since they will sweat too much because of the efforts of cycling.
So this is where e-bikes, or electric bikes come in. They let your legs have a breather on the tough hills simply by twisting your hand on the handlebar and allowing the electric motor take over - pedalling is no longer required then. Then when you’re ready to switch to manual, just let your legs take over. You get moderate exercise and fresh air without over-doing it. Electric bikes are also money-saving to operate needing only a daily battery re-charge if you cycle around 15 to 22 miles per day, although most individuals require only two re-charges a week since they are not doing this kind of distance. For the more adventurous, there are even electric mountain bikes for those who want to get out into the countryside but don’t quite have the calf muscles to scale the slopes.
These days the actual cost of purchasing an electric bike have dropped in price, so you can save yourself a lot of money on bus fares, fuel, gym memberships etc. by buying and regularly using an e-bike.
